What the website stores
Your shopping bag, sound setting and shopping preference are saved in your browser’s local storage. If you complete a fictional checkout, your optional nickname, chosen destination city, product selections, delivery mode and simulated order date and identifier are also saved there. The website keeps up to 20 simulated orders in that browser.
These features use information locally to remember your choices and show the fictional delivery experience. The simulated checkout does not ask for a payment card or street address, and does not send your simulated order to a retailer or create a real purchase.
Website hosting and technical information
Vercel hosts this website. Delivering pages and protecting the service involves processing technical information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information and request times. Hosting logs and their retention are governed by the hosting service’s configuration and policies. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
The current website does not include an advertising pixel or a third-party analytics script in its application code.
Amazon and affiliate links
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. When you choose an Amazon product or cart link, Amazon receives the destination product identifiers and, for a cart transfer, the quantities you selected, along with our affiliate identifier. Your simulated checkout nickname and destination city are not included in these links.
Amazon may use cookies or other tracking technologies on its own service to attribute purchases. Real checkout, payment, shipping information and purchases are handled by Amazon under its own privacy notice. Other external sites you choose to visit have their own privacy practices.
Contacting us
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send. We use this information to respond and handle your request. Gmail processes those messages as our email service. We retain correspondence as needed to resolve the request and address related follow-up or legal obligations. Please avoid sending payment details or unnecessary sensitive information.
Your choices and retention
Local shopping data remains in your browser until you remove it, it is replaced by newer data, or your browser clears it. You can remove bag items in the website, or clear site data for dopamine.zone in your browser settings to delete the saved bag, preferences and simulated orders. Clearing this storage also resets those features.
You can browse without entering a nickname and decide whether to follow a retailer link. We do not sell your locally stored shopping selections or use them for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to processing, or request a portable copy. Contact our privacy email to make a request. Data held only in your browser can be viewed or removed through that browser; we do not have a server copy of your saved simulated orders.
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we process technical and support information for our legitimate interests in operating, securing and supporting the service, and to meet applicable legal obligations. Where consent is required, it must be obtained before the relevant processing. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Service providers and international processing
Our hosting and email providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States, subject to their applicable data protection arrangements. We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect the service and its users.
Coupon extension and changes
The Dopamine Zone coupon extension is in development. This notice describes the website; any released extension will need a notice describing its actual permissions, coupon services and data handling before you install it. A website affiliate verification tag does not install an extension or start coupon testing.
